Comments | Here is the taper that I promised for the South Bend Cross Model 1927 Light Salmon Rod. It gave me something to do with the wonderful new digital Mitutoyo caliper I recieved today. I must say that I was duly impressed with the dimensions/tolerances on the tip and mid section of this rod. They were almost always dead on. The butt was a bit off and these are averages of the flats. 9'6" with 6" fighting butt (10' with fighting butt) No Varnish. The grip is 7.25" and the reel seat 3.75." This is a pretty stiff and heavy rod. I am going to give it a shot as a two handed rod as soon as I re-wrap it. It is a bit heavy for single hand overhead casting. |
