Oops  Is it possible he forgot that the strip depth is 1/2 the taper

The butt was .340 at finish with 20 % at rough stage= .408 but should be

Hi Rich - .408 for a butt strip? Is it possible he forgot that the
strip depth is 1/2 the taper dimension?  IMHO the formula for rough
strip width is 1/2 D + 15%, because the sides are wider than the depth,
+ 20% min. for slop.  Very nice drawings, however, the guy looks like a
