Re Spey rod - Bob Maulucci
Hi Markus:
There are several here.
http://www.uwm.edu/~stetzer/Tapers/drtapers/index.html Take a look at
the Horgaard models, there are three to choose from. For lighter lines,
there is the 12' Waara and the 12' Grantham there that seem like the
would do the trick fro a 6/7. You might convert it to a longer and
heavier rod, but I am not a big proponent of major taper stretches.
Based on the best advice I have received on speys, you might do well to
start with .100" tip and build upon that using the Powell C formula.
Several speys I have cast were variations on that theme and they worked
marvelously. I want to say they were a C10 4/5 1/5, but I can’t remember
for the life of me.
Marty Karstetter is the man to ask, and I do not believe he is online
with us.

Subject: Spey rod
Hi all,
I plan to make a spey rod as next.
The length should be around 13 feet and the line weight somewhere in
the range 8-10.
Any taper suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Markus
