Payne Banty - TSmithwick
In response to recent requests, I checked back into The Planing Form. I
thought I had seen this taper listed. In fact I found the following, submitted
by R. Hoeckrstra In issue # 18. He does not specifically say it is the Payne
taper, however. It is referred to as the 4' 4" Banty taper only. The fact that
the taper is only given to the 45" mark leads one to believe the taper came
from an existing rod, so perhaps this is the Payne taper, but I don't know for
sure.
