List, This is the rod in Lang's auction I really wanted but when I saw a 
couple Japanese bidders in the preview room I knew I was in trouble. I 
therefore miked the rod just in case. That proved to be a good move (I 
folded at $2900). This rod has the quick  action typical of the Hunt 
series but  is a true 4 wt. with enough delicacy to make small fish 
enjoyable. A great taper (at least in my book)! The swelled butt is 
impossible with a standard planing form (it can be averaged)and this 
taper as written needs step down ferrules(which also can be averaged).
