MLSFF Fly Fishing Links PageMilwaukee Lake and Stream Flyfishers is affiliated with the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF). We encourage all of our members to join the FFF and particpate in its activities and those of the FFF Wisconsin Council. Whether you are pursuing bass, panfish, trout, salmon, muskies or other fish with a flyrod, the Wisconsin DNR is a good source of information on great fising opportunies in the Milwaukee area. The US Geological Survey has stream gauges across the country. This is a good place to check the condition of the streams in the area you plan to fish. Just click on the number on the left to see graphs that compare the current stream level to the average for that time of year. The West Fork of the Kickapoo River in Vernon County is one of Wisconsin's great trout streams. The West Fork Sportsman's club is largely responsible for the stream improvements on this river.Just getting started in fly fishing? Check out
The Fly Fishers and Laacke and Joy's are the Milwaukee area's best-equipped fly shops. Besides flys and equipment you can get lots of good advise from Pat Ehlers and Bill Schreiber and their employees. They also offer instruction in fly tying, casting and flyfishing. Both shops support the MLSFF activities. Here are some other links to pages relating to fish and fishing, and fly tying in Wisconsin and surrounding states.
