As I promised last week, here are the tapers from my Payne rods. I

Payne Tapers

Rod number 1)
9 foot 3 piece model #206 or possibly #208, 6wt rod weighing 5 3/8  
oz(uplock reel seat and Spanish cedar filler, 11 guides, medium fast  
action, built ca.1948. Original varnish, so 001-002 might be deducted  
from these measurements.

Rod number 2
8 foot 3 piece model #202 5 wt rod weighing 4 oz, slide band with  
Spanish cedar filler, slow action, built ca.1920 (1915 patent dates  
on tip tops) 9 guides. Apparently varnish over original finish so  
deduct .002-003 from these measurements.This rod has sixty-two  
intermediate winds.
